About the courseThe DPhil in History is an advanced research degree, awarded on the basis of successful completion of an individual research thesis and an oral examination. Your thesis will be based on extensive original research and engagement with current scholarship.
History in Oxford stretches from circa 300 AD to the present, and embraces in addition to its British and European heritage an exceptionally broad range of World history.
